AP2000 Asphalt Plate Compactor

MBW’s AP2000 was the first vibratory plate compactor built specifically for asphalt work. Frequency, amplitude, centrifugal force and machine weight are all dialed in for maximum productivity on asphalt. It is powered by a Honda GX160 engine.

The AP2000 is a 20 inch plate built for the punishment that comes with the job. Its stress-relieved steel plate resists cracking and holds up for the long haul. The aluminum exciter housing sheds heat quickly, and custom lubricants help protect bearings and seals. A self-cleaning plate helps keep dirt and material from building up around the belt and pulley system.

GP2000 Ground Plate Compactor

The GP2000 is a variation of the AP2000, with frequency, amplitude, centrifugal force and weight tuned for maximum performance in sand and gravel.

The GP2000 is capable of delivering excellent densities on lifts of granular soils up to 12 in. (31 cm).*

GP3550 / AP3550

The GP3550 is a high-production, 21″ compactor built to work hard for decades with reasonable maintenance.

A full roll cage comes standard, and the AP3550 includes provisions for a water tank for asphalt compaction. The self-cleaning base plate uses an open-sided design that lets material move out and away from the belt and pulley assembly during operation.

Both models deliver lower hand-arm vibration, full roll cage protection, increased amplitude, faster travel speed and a rugged updated look.

The GP2000 is capable of delivering excellent densities on lifts of granular soils up to 18 in. (46 cm).*

GP5800

The GP5800, also known as “beast mode”, is the next step up from the GP3500. It is a 23 inch plate that keeps the strong performance of its predecessor while improving ergonomics, serviceability and expected product life.

Updates include a removable, easy-to-service exciter assembly, improved suspension for better engine isolation, lower hand-arm vibration and a standard protective engine cage.

This high-production compactor travels up to 130 ft/min, generates .94 in. amplitude for deep penetration in backfill materials and stands out on mid-sized to large commercial and infrastructure jobs. The GP5800 is an economical replacement for smaller reversible plates.
